Over the last term the Year 9 Boys Football Team have been competing in the all Island Graham Atkinson shield which SNHS have not won since 2012.

The lads played five league games in which they won four and lost one. SNHS kicked off the season playing KWC, which ended with a 5-1 win. We then made the long trip up north to play Ramsey, coming away with a superb 8-1 win. After the half term break the Saints travelled to QEII, which ended with SNHS winning 7-0. The following week we made the trip past the fairy bridge to play Castle Rushen and ended up coming home empty handed after losing 4-1. In our final league game we welcomed Ballakermeen in a Douglas Derby, where the lads took the spoils and won 3-0. This meant we would have to play Castle Rushen in the final; the only team we had lost against so far.

The final was always going to a tough game against a good Castle Rushen side. The lads worked hard throughout and had some wobbly moments in the first half but some fantastic saves from Ben Wilkinson kept the game alive. During the second half, Tom Creer managed to bag a hat-trick allowing us to come away 3-0 winners and Year 9 champions.

Well done to all the students who took part this year, they should be extremely proud in their great achievement.
