Last week, staff and students from the school were involved in a number of remembrance events.
Students from Lower School joined Miss White in representing St Ninian’s at the Schools’ Remembrance Service at St Peter’s Church, Onchan on Saturday. They braved the terrible weather to plant crosses in the churchyard to commemorate soldiers from Onchan who had fallen in the war. Shay delivered a reading with great dignity. On Sunday, a group of 10 students represented the school along with Miss White at the Onchan Remembrance Service and parade. During the church service, Lauren read out the story of a local soldier, along with students from Onchan and Ashley Hill Schools. Abigail and Nick laid the wreath at the war memorial. On Monday, Chloe delivered the Village Memorial poem alongside Hector Duff at the war memorial.
