On Thursday 14th November Year 13 had their Life Skills Enrichment Day, which was organised in consultation with students to cover aspects of life and living which they felt to be relevant to their future. Sessions included basic self-defence, life support, using technology to support personal organisation, travelling safely, cooking on a budget and deaf awareness. We would like to thank Mr Birtles, Mrs Freegard, Mrs Smith, Lauren Rosegreen and Roisin Quinn, from Smaller Earth, Pauline Glennon, Mark Vanyan and their team of volunteers from ‘heart start’ and Rosie Kelly and Angela Burrows from DESC Hearing Support Service for the excellent sessions they led.
Congratulations to Jess Rivers who won a a fully paid trip with Smaller Earth to work as a camp leader at a destination of her choice (USA, Canada or China).
Well done to all students who engaged so positively with the activities.
