Below are some of the most asked about questions (and answers) relating to home learning.

How is work being sent home? We are using Google Classroom as an online space for students and teachers to communicate and share work. You can see how this works by visiting the "how to support Home Learning" page
Does my child have to sign into a classroom every lesson at roll call? No. The roll call is an opportunity for students to engage with their teacher and their peers. It is a nice part of the lesson and is designed to keep a feel of community, but if your child is working on something else and misses it - that's fine, hopefully they will catch up with their teacher next lesson.
Does my child have to follow their timetable rigidly? No, but they do need to monitor all their classrooms and should be trying to keep up with work from all their subject teachers.
How can my child contact their teacher/tutor? This should be done during their normal timetabled lessons. Teachers are not available outside these slots as they have other classes, preparation and marking to do at other times.
How do I speak to somebody at school? Please use SNHSenquiries@sch.im to contact the school. We have centralised all communications in order to ensure nothing is missed when/if staff are absent. Please indicate who you would like the message to go to, we will redirect it if necessary.
My child is on free school dinners; can they still get one?
Yes. Please contact the school to find out how the arrangements.
My child doesn't have their own device, what can they do?
Please contact the school. We have a number of way we can support students.
My child is overwhelmed with work, how can I help?
If students are feeling overwhelmed, chances are they doing too much, aiming for perfection or are struggling to organise themselves. Help them to

  • look at the tasks they have been set and their deadlines
  • focus on just one task at a time
  • work for 40 minutes then take a break
  • balance school work with family life and down time
  • contact their teacher to ask for help/guidance
Reassure them and stay calm.
My child is studying for a qualification. Are exams still taking place? Please go to our 2021 Qualifications page in the External examination section. We will regularly update this page to keep you up to date.
