Yesterday our Year 7s enjoyed a trip to the Wildlife Park. Our students were able to see the conservation programmes in action preserving and helping endangered animals in wetlands. They saw other large species including cats, birds of prey, primates and meerkats too. Students took part in either the nature trail or the wild trail with winners announced today or tomorrow by Mr Cretney. The winning team won Clive the penguin “plushie” and those in second and third place some chocolate to share. Students also attended a session in the Rainforest Theatre where they saw live invertebrates and a snake. Students learnt about adaptations, biodiversity, animal classification and conservation.
Other attractions in the park, including the bouncy pillow, were very popular. All staff and pupils on the trip had a wonderful time in the very timely sunny weather.
Special thanks to Staff at the Wildlife Park, The Mangrove Cafe, all SNHS staff who made the trip possible, both on the trip and back at school, our Year 12 Biologists who helped out and Miss Salway for organising this visit.
