Another great start to the week for the Year 8 Saints Hockey teams, playing against strong Castle Rushen sides.
The A team match was end to end with St Ninian's being victors 2-1, goal scorers were Tallulah and Carla and the player of the match was awarded to Amelia. The girls remained calm and collected throughout the game which allowed them to come out winners, with multiple switches within the substitutes, no one was out of position. Rose deserves a special mention for her fantastic goal keeping.
The B team also had a thrilling match with the game finishing a 1-1 draw (goal scorer Leticia). By the second half they managed to move the ball around more efficiently which led to the goal scoring opportunity. Well done to Florence who was awarded player of the match.
The C team also fought extremely hard but unfortunately lost 1-0. However, the girls all remained extremely positive throughout and did have opportunities to score with Jessie up front and Lian on the wing. Player of the match was Hollie.
The D team should be pleased with their performance, they were unfortunate to lose 1-0. Although the girls' resilience and defensive prowess was great from Nina and Bow through the middle. Mia was awarded player of the match.
