After a free week from fixtures due to the Year 7 drop down day, it was great to see continued commitment to training and an eagerness to play in the Hockey teams - once again, almost half of the Year 7 girls represented the school playing Hockey against Castle Rushen High School last week. The games were competitive and played in great spirit. The A team battled hard but Abi Sayle was put to the test as goalkeeper, she made numerous outstanding saves throughout the game to keep the scoreline down to 3-0 - in the first half the Saints had a number chances to score but we couldn't find the back of the net, the girls played really well as a team and the defensive duo of Nandi and Sophie made life difficult for the opponents. Charlotte deserves a special mention for her performance and Gretta was awarded player of the match.
The girls should be really proud of how far they have come over the season, with 3 games left to play I have no doubt that we will see even more progress. A shout out to the C team for coming away with the win, and also to Jossi, Rose and Alexya for being awarded players of the match for the B, C and D teams respectively.
Well done girls, keep working hard and the results will follow.
