World Book Day is Thursday 1st of March. The English department have got three different competitions that students can enter, with prizes for the top three in each competition. The competitions are 'Design a literary shoebox', 'Write a short story tweet' and 'Design a book cover'. There is information about all three of these competitions on the World Book Day display in the foyer and on posters around Lower School. Please note: the closing date for the 'short story tweet' and 'design a book cover' competitions is Friday 23rd February and all entries for these must be handed to their English teacher by the end of day Friday. If students wish to enter the literary shoebox competition, they can drop their entry into the library on the morning of World Book Day itself.

There will also be a staff and student book swap and sale on World Book Day where students can buy a new book at a great price or swap one they have already read for something new to read. In addition, on World Book Day, they will be able to come in dressed up as a character from a book. They must be able to explain who they have come dressed as and have a print out of the book cover or a copy of the book in which their character appears.

The English department look forward to receiving all the creative competition entries. Good luck!
