Unit 1: Computational thinking


This unit aims to develop students' logical reasoning, problem decomposition, and algorithm design skills

End of unit written assessment

Unit 2: 3D Graphics and Animation


Using Blender to create 3D drawings, basic animations with lighting and cameras.

End of unit Practical assessment – showing 3D drawing skills with animation using lighting techniques and camera angles.

SPRING Unit 3: Word Processing


Using Google Doc’s to edit and manipulate a document to create a professional looking final product.

End of unit practical assessment – create a document to show off Word processing tools

Unit 4: Video Editing


BBC School report.Working alongside English students will create a Video News report.
In computing we will focus on capture and editing of video footage

Ongoing assessment with the final Video report being marked for capture and editing skills.

SUMMER Unit 5: Microbit - Javascript


To build on the Microbit unit in year 7. Using a written programming language (JavaScript) to manipulate the microbit’s to achieve different outcomes.

End of unit assessment.
