Performing a baroque/classical piece – Spring or Fur Elise

Improvisation

Pupils learn about how improvisation is used in different cultures around the world focusing on India and China and then finishing with Jazz.

Improvising a Chinese melody within a group.

Performing a 12 bar blues with improvisation on the blues scale.

SUMMER

Band Skills

Pupils learn how to make an arrangement of a well-known pop song in a group.

Perform and record their arrangement.
